Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for Chartered Accountancy Under ICAN (CA Foundation):
- +2 passed (or result waiting) student from any stream who have maintained (or expected to maintain) average C+ or CGPA 2.4 in +2 level
- Graduates or Post Graduates who have scored less than 50% in Commerce and/ or less than 60% in any faculty other than Commerce.
Course Duration Under ICAN
Course duration for Chartered Accountancy Under ICAN:
CA Foundation: 6 Months
CA Application: 9 Months
CA Advisory: 3 years (including articleship period)
Course Content Under ICAN
Note: CA Foundation consists of 50% subjective and 50% objective pattern, whereas CA Application & CA Advisory consists of 100% subjective.
Registration Deadline
Registration deadline: CA Foundation Under ICAN for December attempt is 31 May & for June attempt is November 30.

Passing Criteria
Passing Criteria of CA Foundation Under ICAN:
A candidate shall be declared passed in the CA Foundation Examination under mention conditions
• A candidate shall be declared passed in all papers simultaneously if he/she secures at one sitting.
• A minimum of 40% marks in each paper with an aggregate of 50% of all the papers.
Passing Criteria of CA Application & Advisory Under ICAN:
A candidate will be declared to have passed CA Application Examination only if he passes in both the groups.
i) a minimum of 40%in each paper of each of the group and an aggregate of 50%of all the papersof each of the groups OR
ii) a minimum of 40% in each paper of both the groups and 50% in the aggregate of all the papersof both groups taken together.
iii) A candidate shall be declared to have passed in one group if he/she secures at one attempt a minimum
of 40 % in each paper of the group and 50% in the aggregate of all the papers of that group.
Note:
Exemption (Only for CA Application & CA Advisory) : A student who has scored 60% or more in any paper(s) but has failed in that group, shall be entitled for exemption in that particular paper(s), provided, he has scored a minimum of 30% in any one of the subjects of that group, and should have attempted all the papers in that group.
The exemption shall remain valid for the next three consecutive examinations but those students who are entitled for exemption are not considered for rank.
Distinction: A student securing 75%or above, in the aggregate of both groups, at one sitting, shall be considered to have secured distinction.
Verification of Marks: A candidate may apply to the Institute within a period of 30 days from the date of declaration of results of the examination accompanied with the requisite fees for verification of marks in any paper(s). However, re-evaluation of the answers is not permissible.
